This is an exhibition in the Toradh Gallery in Kells Courthouse. There are twenty works (drawing prints and paintings ) made or begun whilst staying in a Dublin Hotel the Rezz whilst performing in Deirdre Kinahan’s moving play about the Spanish Civil War in 2023.

Myself and Joe Chester have collaborated over the years on several music projects. Joe’s creative sensitivity as a musician and producer is unparalleled. With this latest project “AuRevoir Tristesse’, Im at once, thrilled and terrified to abandon my violin and move over to canvas and paint for a visual response to both Joe Chester’s Music and Francois Sagan’s Novel. All art making, Literature, Music, Painting etc for me is a personal response to one’s life. A reading of Sagan’s novel, which so beautifully touches on young love, inspires me to look once more, closely, at the complexity of youthful discovery. The foundations of soul.
